Pseudo-Alcuin - Sermo de nativitate S. Mariae (Homilia 3)

Here the fragment of a folium with two columns, verso-side, col. a, inc.: “‹…› ergo nos multo meritis inferior‹es› audebimus inquirere …”; expl.: “‹sine humana consuetudine .› virtute spiritus sancti”; col. b, inc.: “‹qui in se credentibus vitam› tribuit ‹sempiternam›…”; expl.: “Specie tua et p‹ulchritudine tua . intende prospe›re . procede et reg[na”. On the recto-side are visible pieces of De miraculis beati Thomae apostoli (21 December). A smaller fragment of a folium from the same manuscript with a piece of the Passio S. Iohannis (or Acta S. Iohannis apostoli; 27 December) on the one side, whose text on the other side is illegible, shows that these two fragments stem from a passionary-lectionary. The provenance of the two fragments is unknown. We have here perhaps the oldest witness of the text known so far. The fragment is not mentioned by JULLIEN/PERELMAN 1999, p. 534.
