Here first recension, perhaps with the dedication letter of Anastasius Bibliothecarius to King Charles the Bald (see there). The copy is mentioned as “Gerarchia” in the Ripoll catalogue of 1047, Catalogus codicum manuscriptorum S. Mariae Rivipullensis a. 1047 (1908), p. 103 no 80; Catalogus codicum manuscriptorum S. Mariae Rivipullensis a. 1047 (1992), p. 399 l. 5. Rudolf Beer’s edition relates the entry with Benet Ribas i Ribas’s manuscript no 33 (“s. X”) and the codex described by VILLANUEVA 1821c, p. 44 (“siglo XI”), and the assumption of the loss of it. According to the description by Villanueva, the manuscript transmitted besides the “Hierarchia S. Dionysii Areopagitae” also a Vita S. Martialis, the tract De fide (“ad Petrum diaconum”) by Fulgentius of Ruspe (see Barcelona, Arxiu de la Corona d’Aragó, Ms. Ripoll 151, fol. 135r–140r, Ripoll, 11th century: BEER/GARCÍA Y VILLADA 1915, p. 74 sq., here p. 75; MADOZ Y MOLERES 1940, p. 4 and 93; MADOZ Y MOLERES 1943; IBARBURU Y ASURMENDI 1987c, p. 315), a “Liber Porfirii” and the “Categoriae Aristotelis ab Augustino translatae” (see Barcelona, Arxiu de la Corona d’Aragó, Ms. Ripoll 83, fol. 1r–98v, Ripoll, 10th century: BEER/GARCÍA Y VILLADA 1915, p. 47; IBARBURU Y ASURMENDI 1987b) in Alcuin’s edition. The manuscript is also mentioned in the inventories of the last Ripoll archivist Roc d’Olzinelles i Miquel (Vic, Arxiu i Biblioteca Episcopal, Mensa, vol. 2058, fol. 2r no 17) and the Barcelona archivist Pròsper de Bofarull, who both dated it to the 10th century (VALLS Y TABERNER 1931a, p. 10 no 0/17): BEER 1908, 1, p. 103 no 80; ALBAREDA I RAMONEDA 1931, p. 277 with n. 1; CAPPUYNS 1933, p. 161 (“du IXe–xe siècle”); SIEGMUND 1949, p. 186 (“s.
