Johannes Scotus Eriugena - Homilia in prologum Evangelii secundum Iohannem

Here the text piece “horum verborum : theoria talis est ... quia vos non estis substancialis lux set participatio per se subsisten[tis luminis“ (MIGNE PL 122, col. 290 lin. 35 – col. 291 col. 5 [second text version]). One large-size folium of a Homiliary which was used in the 17th c. as a flexible book-cover in the diocese of Girona. On one side of the folium can be read the following entry from below to above: “Prima manus notae Anni : M.D.CXXXVJ”, later added: “1636”. The conservative minuscule is imitating an earlier writing style, typical for liturgical manuscripts, but the enlarged text majuscules betray a more recent product.
