Here mutilated at the beginning and the end, starting with I 12
(inc.: “assumptum significat . quod antequam transiret ad altare
crucis …”) and ending with IV 29 (expl.: “… . Ipso eciam
frontispicio doceant”): BEER 1908, 1, p. 95; DOMÍNGUEZ Y BORDONA
1952, p. 13 (“Siglo XI”; with the assumption that this manuscript
formed part of the original donation from Grandselve to Santes
Creus; “Recuerda por su paleografía y ornamentación a ciertos
manuscritos de escritorios catalanes, como Ripoll o Vich”), 23 and
75 sq. (with fig. of fol. 31v); DOMÍNGUEZ Y BORDONA 1953–1954, p.
57; ALTÉS I AGUILÓ 1983, p. 33 sq. with n. 95; MUNDÓ I MARCET 1988,
p. 100 and p. 112 with n. 77; BONDÉELLE-SOUCHIER 1991, p. 126 sq.;
MATEU I IBARS/MATEU I IBARS 1980–1991, 1, p. 583; MUNDÓ I MARCET
1994, p. 154 sq. with fig. (fol. 31v); LEMAITRE 1996, p. 26; MUNDÓ I
MARCET 2002, p. 80 with n. 19, p. 82, p. 93 sq. n. 19 and p. 392
plate 17 (fol. 31v); ZIMMERMANN 2003, 1, p. 584 sq. The manuscript
is not mentioned by HANSSENS 1933; HANSSENS 1934; HANSSENS 1935;
HANSSENS 1948, p. 29–35 and 120–131; JULLIEN/PERELMAN 1994, p.
133–135. It is written by the famous scribe Guifred and certainly
one of the two manuscripts mentioned in the Ripoll catalogue of
1047, “Amelarii II.”, Catalogus codicum manuscriptorum S. Mariae
Rivipullensis a. 1047 (1908), p. 105 no 160 sq.; Catalogus codicum
manuscriptorum S. Mariae Rivipullensis a. 1047 (1992), p. 399 l. 11:
EWALD 1881, p. 389; BEER 1908, 1, p. 106 no 160 sq.; MANITIUS 1919,
p. 718; RIUS I SERRA 1926, p. 566; HANSSENS 1933, p. 327 (who does
not mention existing Catalan copies of the work); DÍAZ Y DÍAZ 1969,
p. 236; MIRANDA Y GARCÍA 2015, p. 34 with n. 47; GROS I PUJOL 2016,
p. 134 no 43 and p. 148; DE PUIG I OLIVER 2017–2019, p. 602 with n.
368. In the section “[sc. “Salomon”] Et pro Johanne dedit” of this
catalogue is perhaps mentioned one of these two copies: “Sancti
Amelarii”, Donatio codicum manuscriptorum Salomonis sacerdotis S.
Mariae Rivipullensi a. 1017 (1908), p. 109 no 244; Donatio codicum
manuscriptorum Salomonis sacerdotis S. Mariae Rivipullensi a. 1017
(1992), p. 400 l. 4; Donatio codicum manuscriptorum Salomonis
sacerdotis S. Mariae Rivipullensi a. 1017 (2001), p. 55 no 33: BEER
1908, 1, p. 109 no 244; GROS I PUJOL 2001, p. 63 sq. no 33 with n.
28 and p. 65 sq.; DE PUIG I OLIVER 2017–2019, p. 602 n. 368. No
identification of these mentioned Ripoll-copies with still existing
Ripoll manuscripts has been suggested by ZIMMERMANN 2003, 1, p. 570.
Because of this Ripoll origin, the manuscript in Tarragona cannot
have belonged to the original book endowment from the mother abbey
Grandselve as BONDÉELLE-SOUCHIER 1991, p. 126 sq.; LEMAITRE 1996, p.
26 still supposed. Digitization:
