Whereas Léopold Delisle was in favour of Aniane (but with questionmark), Jean Dufour attributed the manuscript to the scriptorium of Arles-sur-Tech (comparing it with the scripture of the missal Perpignan, Bibliothèque municipal, Ms. 4 from there, the writing style of which has nothing to do with our Ripoll copy. If the date suggested by François Avril and others is correct, the copy would have been produced in the time of the controversy between Aniane and Gellone (on this conflict: TISCHLER 2005, p. 67–69). But if it is a Ripoll copy, then the story of it must be another one. We have later traces of the use of this work in the Ripoll historiography which are arguments for its preservation there.
