Pars hiemalis of a Homiliary, i. e. a biblical lectionary (for the Sundays after Epiphanias), hagiographical and patristic lectionary for the period between Advent and Maundy Thursday and Homilies for Lent. The presence of several lifes of Hispanic saints and one piece of the Homiliary of Toledo (no 62) and the use of a lectionary for Lent known only from a manuscript from Sant Feliu de Girona (now Girona, Biblioteca Diocesana del Seminari, Fons de Manuscrits de Sant Feliu de Girona, Ms. 44) indicate a Catalan origin, whereas the life of St. Paul of Narbonne (no 9), a sermon of Sedatus of Nîme (no 40) and the Aquitain notation of the chant of Sybill (no 42) would more match with a Septimanian origin. But St. Paul of Narbonne is celebrated on both sides of the Pyrenees and the hagiographical texts of the Hispanic saints are also read in the region of Montpellier. On fol. 194rb a marginal note indicates the secular, not monastic use in a refectorium of a Cathedral or a community of canons of the Carolingian Aachen rule. Perhaps the fact that Colbert has purchased many manuscripts from the Midi tend more to Septimania. Yet, could it be a manuscript from Pierre de Marca’s library?
