1v-62v, Paschasius Radbertus - De corpore et sanguine Domini
Link to digitization: here.
Unique copy of the second recension. This copy was perhaps brought by
Bishop Godesscalc of Le Puy from Catalonia to Le Puy on his way back from
Santiago de Compostela and San Martín de Abelda crossing Catalonia in
autumn/winter 950. According to BOUHOT 1976, p. 83 with n. 21 this
manuscript could be dated to the 9th century and would be perhaps the
manuscript offered by Paschasius Radbertus to Charles the Bald in 843. But
the manuscript is not mentioned by BISCHOFF 2014, p. 86. It is certainly not
from Corbie (GANZ 1990) and seemingly more southern French or even Catalan
and more from the 10th century. This manuscript contains in its second part
the famous copy of Ildefons of Toledo’s De laude virginitatis S. Marie made
by monk Gómez of Sant Martín de Albelda. Thus the copy was perhaps brought
by Bishop Godesscalc of Le Puy from Catalonia to Le Puy on his way back from
Santiago de Compostela and San Martín de Abelda, when he crossed Catalonia
with a stay at Ripoll in autumn/winter 950. The manuscript still at the
Cathedral of Le Puy, when Dom Estiennot made a collation of it for Jean
Mabillon in 1677, before it was given with 47 other Le Puy manuscripts to
Jean-Bapiste Colbert in 1681(mentioned in the inventory of 1681, August 5,
Paris, Bibliothèque nationale de France, Ms. lat. 9364, fol. 71r–72v, here
fol. 72v under the number 40: “Radbertus de corpore et sanguine Domini.
Hildefonsus Toletanus de perpetua virginitate sanctae Mariae”). The copy was
used for the edition of the work by Edmond Martène and Ursin Durand:
