Here a copy of the model which Louis the Pious had sent to Archbishop Sicarius of Bordeaux (see the emperor’s letter on fol. 1r–3r), but today with a loss of text between fol. 16v and 17r jumping from ch. 10 (expl.: “… Turpis lucri adpetitio est . plus de presentibus . quam de futuris cogitare ;”) to the beginning of ch. 82. On the upper margin of fol. 1r was an ownership inscription that was erased when the manuscript was transferred to Colbert’s library. However, at the end of the codex, in the lower third of fol. 64v, there is a 13th-century ownership inscription, which has been largely erased: “Iste liber est prioratus B‹…› Santonensis Diocesis”. If this exlibris is correctly read, the manuscript would have once belonged to the diocese of Saintes, which would confirm the special transmission of the Institutio canonicorum Aquisgranensis with Louis the Pious’ letter to Archbishop Sicarius of Bordeaux. It could be that this manuscript is that mentioned in the very brief modern description of the 17th-century contents in the catalogue of manuscripts given by Cardinal Pierre de Bonzi, archbishop of Narbonne (1673–1703), to M. Boudon for Colbert, among the 2o format codices as “Concilium Aquisgranense DCCCXVI.” (Paris, Bibliothèque nationale de France, Ms. lat. 9364, fol. 53r–54r, here fol. 53r): Catalogus codicum manuscriptorum 1744a, p. 147 col. a (“Is codex undecimo saeculo exaratus videtur”); Conciliorum Galliae Collectio 1789, p.
