2r-73r, Smaragdus of Saint-Mihiel - Diadema monachorum

Here with the rubric “Hic liber scriptus Ioseph abbate iubente”. According to Jean Dufour, the manuscript is rather from Santa Maria d’Arles, a dependance of Moissac since 1078, than from the mother abbey itself. The manuscript then belonged to Nicolas-Joseph Foucault (1643–1721) who wrote on fol. 2r “ex abbatia Moissiacensi“ and whose ex-libris is pasted on the inner counterplate of the upper book-cover. The date “23 Februarii 1720/21“ on fol. Ir is perhaps that of the sale at La Haye: WANLEY e. a. 1759–1763, 2, s. v. (“X”); NARES e. a. 1808–1813, 2, p. 733 col. b no 3078 (“X”); ROCHAIS 1953, p. 252 sq. n. 3, here p. 253 (“Xe s. (Moissac, O. S. B.”)); DUFOUR 1972, p.
