London, British Library, Ms. Add. 21218

2r-4r, Einhart - Vita Karoli

Here only ch. 33. On fol. 64r/v are added signatures of consuls of Narbonne from 1609 to 1634 and a note on the derivation of the name of Narbonne, which probably show that the manuscript was at that time in Narbonne (library of the Hôtel de Ville?). According to the table of contents on fol. 1r/v in French, the manuscript was still in France in the 18th century. The British Museum bought it via Edwin Tross (1822–1875), publisher and bookseller in Paris on January 12, 1856: Catalogue of additions 1875, p. 341 sq. (“XIVth cent.”; the text is not identified); SCHNEEGANS 1896, p. 42 sq. no 3, here p. 42 (“fol. 1ro–3ro”; the text is not identified); SIMMONET 1993, p. 239 and 247; TISCHLER 2001, p.
