The work is here transmitted under the name of St. Augustine. The manuscript’s first recognizable owner was the Spanish Cardinal Pedro Fernández de Frías († 1420) who held a canonry at the Cathedral of Tarragona and the dominion over Reus and who perhaps donated it with some of his manuscripts to the Camaldulense abbey S. Maria degli Angeli in Firenze, where it was restored between the 15th and early 19th century (entries of the 16th century on fol. 1r lower margin: “Angelorum” and fol. 112v: “Iste liber est monasterii sanctae Mariae de Angelis de Florentia”). The manuscript is mentioned in the inventory of 1729: BALDELLI CHERUBINI 1972, p. 39 no 22.
